The Administrative Assistant is a key person in the orderly operation of an office and is prepared for future advancement to any executive clerical position within a company. Administrative Assistants will be prepared with a working knowledge of general business procedures and trained to manage documents and forms applicable to most office environments.
Performs any combination of the following: calculating, posting, and verifying duties to obtain financial data for use in maintaining accounting records. Complies and sorts documents, such as invoices and checks, substantiating business transactions. Verifies and posts details of business transactions, such as funds received and disbursed, and total accounts, using calculator or computer.
This program is designed to prepare you in this exciting field with the technical knowledge of legal correspondence such as summons, complaints, motions, subpoenas and with further preparation for clerical support in the legal office setting.
The Medical Office Administration program will train students to perform duties utilizing specific knowledge of medical terminology and hospital, clinic, or laboratory procedures. Duties may also include preparing and coding bills to patients and insurance companies, recording appointments, recording patient histories and physicians notes, doing medical dictation and assuming responsibility for records management.
Medical Assistants perform routine clinical and administrative tasks to keep the offices and clinics of physicians, podiatrists, chiropractors, and optometrists running smoothly.
Students completing the Medical Records and Health
Information Technician program will have the skills and knowledge to perform
the financial functions (collections) in a health care facility. The
students also have a knowledge of back office clinical skills to allow them
to assist those personnel and to become employed as hospital ward clerks,
health unit coordinators, insurance coders, medical billing clerks,
insurance billing clerks, or hospital admissions clerks.
The Office Technology program prepares students for today's computerized office environments with a thorough knowledge of computer usage and software applications.
